Kimi Antonelli secured a brilliant pole position for Mercedes after an intense qualifying session at the 2026 Formula 1 United States Grand Prix. The talented young Italian driver delivered a stellar lap to claim the premier grid slot ahead of Sunday's main race.
The tension was palpable in the paddock as cars tackled the challenging technical sections of the circuit. Lining up directly alongside the polesitter is Max Verstappen, who clinched second place for Red Bull Racing and promises an aggressive charge when the lights go out.
The battle at the front intensifies further with Isack Hadjar locking out third position for Red Bull, followed closely by Ferrari's Charles Leclerc in fourth. Meanwhile, George Russell slotted into sixth place on the grid just behind Lewis Hamilton.

The provisional starting grid also reflects several grid penalties handed down ahead of the race. Arvid Lindblad faces a five-place grid drop, Franco Colapinto picks up a ten-place penalty, and Gabriel Bortoleto is set to drop twenty places following engine component changes.
This provisional starting grid remains subject to final validation by the FIA as teams finalize their setups for a thrilling showdown in Austin.
