Kimi Antonelli is on the verge of securing the 2026 Formula 1 world championship following a dominant victory at the United States Grand Prix, marking his eighth win of a stellar season.
The young Italian talent delivered another masterclass at the Circuit of The Americas, leaving him within touching distance of being crowned world champion at the upcoming round in Mexico City.
Antonelli now requires just two more points to mathematically seal the championship crown. This means he will clinch the title if he finishes ninth or higher next weekend, regardless of where Mercedes teammate George Russell places.

Behind the runaway championship leader, the battle for second place in the standings has intensified significantly. Russell holds the position, but is sitting just one solitary point ahead of his Ferrari teammate Lewis Hamilton.
Meanwhile, Red Bull's Max Verstappen continues his relentless charge up the order, closing the gap to the front-runners as the fierce 2026 season heads toward its dramatic conclusion.
