Arriving with momentum from consecutive victories, Max Verstappen had to settle for a third-place finish at the United States Grand Prix. Despite securing another podium appearance, the four-time world champion made no secret of his dissatisfaction with the overall performance and behavior of his car throughout the race weekend.
From the early stages, the Red Bull star struggled significantly to match the fierce pace dictated by Andrea Kimi Antonelli. The handling difficulties compounded his frustration, triggering tense team radio exchanges and a visibly annoyed reaction immediately following his scheduled pit stop.
Even though he managed to climb into second place after executing a clean overtake on Lando Norris, that position slipped away in the closing laps. Verstappen was ultimately overtaken by Charles Leclerc, forcing him down to the final step of the podium ceremony.

Reflecting on the challenges after stepping off the podium, the Dutch driver delivered a candid assessment.
Despite his own struggles, Verstappen took a moment to praise his young rival, who now stands on the brink of capturing the world championship ahead of the upcoming race in Mexico. With crucial data to review, the team faces an intense development race to ensure they can fight at the absolute front next season.
