Two-time FIM Supersport World Championship title holder Dominique Aegerter has officially locked in his racing future by signing a deal with PTR Triumph Racing for the upcoming 2027 season. The veteran Swiss rider makes the high-profile switch to the British squad after spending a single campaign campaigning a Kawasaki machine, culminating in a strong runner-up finish behind his teammate during the season finale at Jerez.
The official announcement was made by the Simon Buckmaster-led British outfit, securing one of the most dominant and successful riders in modern World Supersport history. During his golden era in 2021 and 2022, the 36-year-old completely controlled the intermediate class by securing an astonishing 27 race victories and 35 podium finishes across 44 starts, even setting a record for the most wins in a single season.
Reflecting on his new multi-year chapter and putting an end to heavy paddock speculations regarding a potential return to his former Dutch squad, Dominique Aegerter admitted he feels an immense sense of relief to secure his competitive future at the highest level of production-based motorcycle racing.

"I am mainly relieved that my future for 2027 is secured and that I can continue racing at the highest level," Dominique Aegerter stated following the contract confirmation. "I am happy to have reached an agreement with PTR Triumph Racing, Simon Buckmaster's team. I have known Simon for a long time from the paddock and we have been in contact several times in the past. I am looking forward to the new season and especially my first test on the Triumph. The team has shown that they have a competitive package. I also achieved good results again at the end of this season, so I hope we can form a strong combination together. This winter I will work hard, both on the bike and in the gym, to appear at the start even stronger physically and mentally."
Within the team's operational setup, the seasoned champion is widely expected to share the pit box alongside 21-year-old British talent Joshua Whatley. This rider pairing anchors a broader factory expansion effort aimed squarely at capturing championship glory in the fiercely competitive international series.
