Audi has officially announced plans for a new Formula 1 campus in Hinwil, Switzerland. The facility will be located less than one kilometre from the team's long-standing headquarters, marking a new chapter in Audi's journey in the pinnacle of motorsport.
This strategic location is not just a change of address. The new campus is designed to be a hub of innovation and collaboration, where top engineers, designers, and mechanics can work seamlessly. Meanwhile, the current facility will be redeveloped as the team's manufacturing centre and windtunnel operation, ensuring synergy between technology and production.
The ambitious project will not be completed overnight. Audi targets full completion by 2030, although some areas of the campus became operational last summer. This phased approach demonstrates Audi's meticulous strategy in building a solid foundation for the team in the long term.

Audi F1 CEO Mattia Binotto emphasised that the campus is an investment in the team's future. "The Campus will play an important role in helping us attract and retain world-class talent while providing the foundations required to achieve our long-term ambitions," he said. For him, building a successful F1 team is ultimately about people—and the right environment is key to maximising their potential.
Binotto also highlighted the uniqueness of the project. "What makes this project particularly special is that it allows us to shape the future of Audi Revolut F1 Team from the ground up. Opportunities like this are rare in modern Formula 1. We are not simply moving into an existing facility; we are creating a home designed around our people, our culture and our ambitions," he added. He also expressed his gratitude to the Municipality of Hinwil for their support.
Meanwhile, power unit development and manufacturing will continue in Neuburg, Germany. The team's F1 technical centre in Bicester, UK, which opened in July last year, will also remain operational. Thus, Audi has three main pillars: Hinwil as headquarters and innovation hub, Neuburg for power units, and Bicester for technology.
On track, Audi currently sits eighth in the 2026 constructors' championship with 17 points, 10 behind seventh-placed Haas and five ahead of Williams. Drivers Nico Hulkenberg and Gabriel Bortoleto will continue with the team next season, providing important stability as the team focuses on building its foundations off track.
With the construction of this new campus, Audi is sending a clear message: they are serious about becoming a long-term force in Formula 1. Not just participating, but building a legacy from scratch.
