Alex Marquez topped the timesheets in warm-up for the 2026 British MotoGP at Silverstone on Sunday morning. The Gresini rider set a 1'57.68s lap, outpacing Raul Fernandez and his brother, Marc Marquez.
This result is a strong signal for Alex, who was the top Ducati in yesterday's Sprint, finishing behind a trio of Aprilias. Now, he arrives with high confidence ahead of the 20-lap main race scheduled for 1pm local time.
Interestingly, almost all riders opted for the medium rear tyre in this warm-up. That follows the significant performance drop of the soft tyre experienced by several factory Ducati riders, including Marc Marquez and Pecco Bagnaia, in yesterday's Sprint.

The only exception was Marco Bezzecchi. The Aprilia rider, who is returning from collarbone and knee injuries sustained at Sachsenring, used the soft tyre, according to information from the team to MotoGP reporters. That move was made to save energy in the morning.
Behind the top four, Fabio Di Giannantonio and Franco Morbidelli from VR46 took fifth and sixth. Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha), championship leader Jorge Martin, and Pedro Acosta (KTM) completed the top ten.
With the track conditions looking supportive, the race is predicted to be a fierce battle between Alex Marquez, who is in the form of his life, and the Aprilia dominance led by Martin. Can Alex maintain his momentum? We'll have to wait and see.
