MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Jack Miller, Pramac Yamaha rider, eagerly embraces his contract extension through 2026, poised to play a pivotal role in developing Yamaha’s new V4 MotoGP machine. With racing experience at Honda, Ducati, and KTM, Miller brings a unique perspective to shape Yamaha’s next era.

Miller’s Role in Yamaha’s V4 Project

Miller expressed enthusiasm for contributing to Yamaha’s V4 project, set to debut in 2026. “I really wanted to be part of this project, especially with what’s coming,” Miller told MotoGP.com. He believes the current inline M1 has neared its performance ceiling, making the V4 a fresh opportunity. “If we start on the same level as now, who knows how high we can go,” he added.

His multi-brand experience equips him to provide valuable insights. “I’ve ridden nearly every brand. I can pick the best elements from each to deliver clear, insightful feedback,” he explained. The V4 project will take center stage at Misano next weekend, with test rider Augusto Fernandez making a wild-card debut, followed by Quartararo and others testing post-race.

Focus on Current Inline Engine Development

Despite the V4 focus, Miller stressed the importance of refining the current inline engine to transfer data to the new project. “We’ll keep developing electronics and strategies during race weekends to apply to the new bike,” he said. Miller also aims to maximize points at competitive tracks. “We’ve had solid races this year, though some were disappointing. Finishing in the top five was great,” he noted.

Outlook for Yamaha’s V4 Project

Yamaha’s V4 project marks a bold step toward competitiveness in MotoGP 2026. With Miller as a key contributor, the team aims to build a formidable machine from scratch. While V4 lap times remain confidential, Fernandez’s Misano debut will offer an early benchmark. Miller remains optimistic but acknowledges the challenges ahead. “There are long, hard days coming, but those are the ones I enjoy,” he concluded.

Looking forward, Yamaha will rely on Miller’s expertise to accelerate V4 development, aiming to reclaim a top spot in MotoGP. The Misano weekend will kickstart this new chapter.
