Veda Ega Pratama delivered an impressive performance in the 2026 French Moto3 Grand Prix at Le Mans on Sunday after finishing fourth for Honda Team Asia. The Indonesian rider recovered strongly after dropping down the order during the opening lap in difficult wet conditions.

The race was won by Maximo Quiles of Aspar Team, who controlled the event from the early stages. Adrian Fernandez from Leopard Racing secured second place, while Matteo Bertelle completed the podium for Level-Up MTA KTM.

Veda started the race from sixth on the grid but lost several positions on the opening lap and briefly dropped to 14th place. With the track still wet following earlier rain, grip levels remained extremely low, forcing the young Indonesian rider to adopt a cautious approach during the early phase of the race.

At the front, Quiles immediately took the lead away from Fernandez and began building a gap. Behind him, an intense battle for second place developed between Fernandez and Joel Kelso during the opening laps.

Lap by lap, Veda steadily worked his way back through the field as the race rhythm began to stabilise. On lap five, several major incidents dramatically changed the race after Joel Kelso, Alvaro Carpe, and Marco Morelli crashed out of contention.

The situation allowed Veda to rejoin the leading group. The Honda Team Asia rider then engaged in a crucial battle with Joel Esteban and Guido Pini before successfully moving into fourth position on lap six.

In constantly changing track conditions, Veda displayed increasingly mature bike control, particularly under braking and acceleration on the wet surface. He managed to defend fourth place until the chequered flag despite sustained pressure from the riders behind.

Meanwhile, Quiles remained fully in control at the front and never allowed his rivals to close the gap before taking victory at Le Mans. The result further strengthened his position at the top of the 2026 Moto3 world championship standings.

Following the French Grand Prix, Quiles now leads the championship with 90 points. Fernandez moved further up the standings, while Veda climbed to sixth overall with 37 points, moving closer to the leading championship group.

The Le Mans result also ranks among Veda’s strongest performances of the season, particularly because of his recovery drive in extremely difficult conditions. The performance provides another positive signal ahead of the next round at the 2026 Catalan Grand Prix at Barcelona-Catalunya.
