Turkish star Toprak Razgatlioglu has openly admitted that he is navigating a uniquely challenging phase in his professional racing career after undergoing a surgical procedure to repair a severe shoulder injury.
The physical setback stems from a nasty crash during FP2 at the Indonesian Grand Prix, which resulted in a severe dislocation of his right shoulder. Although medical staff initially relocated the joint allowing him to bravely line up for qualifying and Sunday's race at Mandalika, excruciating pain ultimately forced him to retire prematurely.
The decision was subsequently made to prematurely end his debut premier-class campaign to ensure full rehabilitation. Sharing post-operation photographs from a specialised medical facility in Milan ahead of the Malaysian Grand Prix weekend, the multi-time WorldSBK champion expressed his emotional state.

"Sometimes unexpected things can happen. I am going through a difficult time because, for the first time in my sporting career, I have had to end a season before it is over," Toprak Razgatlioglu explained regarding his current recovery phase.
Consequently, the rider will sit out the remaining rounds, including the vital December 1 test in Valencia featuring the 2027 regulations. Both Pramac and Yamaha are now channeling their efforts into his rehabilitation so he can return fully fit for the Sepang shakedown.
