Supercars has finally broken its silence. Following Ford's dominance at the Ipswich Super440, the category has decided to adjust the aero package on the Chevrolet Camaro — while also rejecting a request from the Toyota camp. This decision is the latest chapter in the ever-heating parity debate of the 2025 season.

The approved change for the Chevrolet Camaro is the third of its kind this year. Technically, Supercars states that the modification consists of "an increase of the front undertray tunnel width by 70mm in total." This is a significant step, given that the Camaro has previously struggled to match Ford's performance.

Nevertheless, Supercars insists it will closely monitor the Camaro's performance at The Bend. Interestingly, while the Enduro Cup marks the cut-off for parity changes, those already implemented can be reversed or revised within two events. This all but ensures the aerodynamic parity debate will roll on to the Bathurst 1000.

On the other hand, Supercars also confirmed it denied a requested change from Toyota homologation team Walkinshaw TWG. The reason: "While the Toyota model triggered parity, it was determined that until certain areas of the Supra are further developed, no parity change can be considered." This appears to be a reference to the Toyota engine, which received a 'B-spec' upgrade at the most recent round at Ipswich, aimed at improving reliability.

Additionally, Supercars announced it will undertake Centre of Gravity (CoG) testing on nine cars after The Bend. This move comes after Chevrolet homologation squad Team 18 expressed displeasure with how pre-season CoG testing was handled.

With the current dynamics, the battle towards Bathurst 1000 is set to become even more intriguing. All eyes are now on The Bend to see if this parity change can truly close the gap between Ford, Chevrolet, and Toyota.
