The Supercars technical department has completed an intensive brake testing program at Queensland Raceway utilising a spare Ford Mustang from Triple Eight. The crucial test featured the team's regular drivers Broc Feeney and Will Brown behind the wheel to ensure precise feedback from the cockpit.
By outfitting the test car with supplementary instrumentation, officials gathered a significantly higher quantity of data points that are typically impossible to record during a standard race weekend. This detailed approach aims to resolve recurring technical challenges that have impacted several outfits throughout the current season.
According to Speedcafe, Supercars trialled multiple different pad options on both the front and rear axles of the Mustang. Both drivers provided vital feedback regarding braking stability and pedal feel throughout the running.

Tuesday's running marked the initial phase in an extensive procedure as the championship works through potential modifications to its braking package, following previous evaluations held at Symmons Plains back in May.
Braking complications have troubled teams across multiple rounds this year, originating from the Ipswich Super440 and a pre-enduro test where Harri Jones suffered a heavy crash due to brake failure.
While earlier troubles were attributed to a batch issue prior to the Queensland round—prompting new pads to be flown in ahead of The Bend 500—issues persisted into the Bathurst 1000 where several contenders were forced into multiple mid-race brake changes.
The Supercars Championship now heads toward the upcoming Sandown 500 on November 6-8, where signature long straights leading into heavy braking zones are expected to deliver further critical data.
