Suninen Locks In Second at Barum, Brezik Holds Firm Lead

Teemu Suninen continues to impress in the European Rally Championship. The Finn, amid a hectic rally schedule, is on the verge of another stellar result at the legendary Barum Rally, which has been nothing short of intense.

With just three stages remaining, Suninen sits second, only 21.2 seconds behind the leader. But the real battle is with Poland's Mikolaj Marczyk, as only half a second separates the pair in the Finn's favor.

"Barum Rally always offers something. I don't really care about the times, I'm just happy to be fast and in the times. It's a tricky rally, but we are enjoying," Suninen said.

Marczyk remained calm under pressure. "It was an OK run. I'm just trying to enjoy the driving as much as possible. I don't want to focus too much on the times so that there isn't any pressure. I'm just focusing on my driving," he commented.

Meanwhile, home favorite Adam Brezik is on course for victory after dominating the rally. He holds a 21.2-second advantage over Suninen. "The lead is pretty good going into the final loop. But it was really tough, with a lot of rocks and gravel on the road. You have to be careful not to get any punctures. Everyone knows that anything can happen at any time in the Barum Rally," Brezik said.

The podium fight is still open, with Italy's Andrea Mabellini just three seconds off the podium in fourth. Poland's Jakub Matulka is nearly 50 seconds adrift in fifth.

Three special stages remain in this Czech ERC round, and the outcome is far from decided. Can Brezik hold on, or will Suninen deliver a late surprise?
