Jayden Ojeda set the pace in Friday practice for the Supercars Airtouch 500 at The Bend, clocking a 1:16.4702 to lead Anton De Pasquale by a mere 0.0708 seconds. The PremiAir Racing driver's late-session surge gave Chevrolet a clean sweep of the top spots.
Ryan Wood impressed with a significant improvement from the opening session, slotting third for Walkinshaw TWG Racing, just 0.1092s adrift. Brodie Kostecki was the best-placed Ford driver in fourth for Dick Johnson Racing, 0.1639s off the pace.
David Reynolds completed the top five for Team 18, followed by Kai Allen (Grove Racing), Chaz Mostert (Walkinshaw TWG), Craig Lowndes (Team 18), Matthew Payne (Grove Racing), and Will Brown (Triple Eight).

The session ran relatively cleanly, save for a close call in the pit lane between Triple Eight and Walkinshaw TWG. Chaz Mostert had to brake hard when Broc Feeney was pushed out into the pit lane, forcing the #2 Toyota Supra to take evasive action. Motorsport Australia opted for no penalties. Feeney and co-driver Nick Percat ended up only 23rd, 0.8663s off the pace.
Practice 4 for co-drivers kicks off at 9:50am ACST on Saturday, with Practice 5 following at midday. Qualifying at 2:45pm will set the majority of the grid, before the Top 10 Shootout at 5:00pm.
With times so tight, teams will be fine-tuning setups overnight. The fight for pole promises to be intense, especially with Chevrolet showing strong pace early in the weekend.
