Lando Norris has committed his future to McLaren until the end of 2030, and he says he would be 'proud' to spend his entire Formula 1 career with the team. The 26-year-old recently signed a four-year contract extension, solidifying his place at Woking.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Norris admitted he is unsure about racing into his 40s but stressed his loyalty to the team that gave him his F1 debut. "I don't know if I want to get to 40. It's a big ask to get to 30, so we'll see. But I certainly want to believe we can win more as a team," he said.
Norris emphasized that McLaren is more than just a team; it's home. "They are the only team I've ever been with, and the team that I love. If I end up doing my whole career at McLaren, that's something I'll be so proud to say," he added.
Long-Term Commitment
The 2025 Formula 1 champion is not thinking about matching the longevity of Fernando Alonso or Lewis Hamilton just yet. Instead, his focus is on the next four years and fighting for wins and championships.
"I don't know what point I want to go to as a driver, whether I want to be 30, or 40, or 50. I'm just very pleased to announce I'll be here for four more years," Norris stated.
Currently fourth in the drivers' standings with 159 points, Norris has momentum after back-to-back wins in Hungary and the Netherlands. With his future secure, he can focus on closing the gap to the championship leaders and delivering more success for McLaren.
