WorldSBK, Sportrik MediaNicolo Bulega stated that the WorldSBK championship is currently in “a good era” after securing his 13th consecutive victory, equalling the record previously set by Toprak Razgatlioglu.

The Italian’s Race 2 win at the Dutch Round marked his ninth victory from nine races in the 2026 season. Combined with four consecutive wins at the end of 2025, Bulega has now reached a total of 13 straight victories, placing him alongside Razgatlioglu in the series’ record books for consecutive wins.

Beyond race performance, Bulega has also dominated qualifying sessions, securing all available pole positions so far this season. The strength of Aruba.it Racing Ducati has been further underlined by the manufacturer locking out front rows and securing all podium positions during the Dutch Round, a feat not seen since the Superpole Race format was introduced in 2019.

“I’m in a good situation, I have a good mentality now, and I know I can be fast in any conditions,” Bulega told WorldSBK.com.

“When you win 13 in a row, it gives you a lot of motivation for the races to come. It’s been very good for my mindset.”

Responding to suggestions that the championship is entering a “Bulega era,” the Italian did not dismiss the idea and instead emphasised the overall competitiveness of the series.

“The ‘era of Bulega’ sounds good. I think we are in a good era right now,” he added.

“I can ride my bike well because my team listens to my feedback, which allows us to improve session by session. This is the result of hard work from me and from Ducati.”

Reflecting on Race 2, Bulega highlighted that a calm and controlled approach was key to converting the race into another victory after losing positions early on. Starting from pole, he dropped to third in the opening laps after being overtaken by Sam Lowes and Iker Lecuona.

“I didn’t make a perfect start, Sam and Iker overtook me in the first laps,” Bulega explained.

“I just stayed calm and studied where I could overtake them. From there, it was a fantastic race. I made some good overtakes and didn’t make any mistakes.”

He also noted that improvements in bike feeling compared to the previous day contributed to his consistent race pace.

“We improved the feeling from yesterday and had a good race pace, so I’m happy with that,” he concluded.

Holding a 69-point lead over teammate Iker Lecuona, Bulega heads into the next round at Balaton Park on 2–4 May with the opportunity to set a new outright record in WorldSBK history.
