Moto3, Sportrik Media - Maximo Quiles secured victory at the 2026 Spanish Moto3 Grand Prix in Jerez after a race defined by constant battles, strengthening his position at the top of the championship standings.
The CFMOTO Gaviota Aspar Team rider started from pole position after dominating the weekend. However, his early advantage quickly disappeared as he was drawn into a tight fight with Adrian Fernandez and David Munoz for the race lead.
During the opening laps, Quiles struggled with bike stability, running wide on multiple occasions and making visible corrections. This dropped him to the back of the leading group before he gradually regained rhythm.

With five laps remaining, Quiles launched his decisive move at Turn 1 to retake the lead. From that moment, he controlled the race to the finish, crossing the line with a gap of nearly two seconds.
The battle for second place went down to the line, with Adrian Fernandez securing the runner-up position after a close duel with David Munoz, also emerging as the top Honda rider in the race.
Munoz completed an all-Spanish podium, while Marco Morelli delivered a standout performance by climbing from 11th on the grid and briefly challenging for a podium before finishing fourth.
Alvaro Carpe finished fifth as the best of the rest, although significantly behind the leading group.
One of the most notable performances came from Veda Pratama, who was the top rookie. The Honda Team Asia rider climbed from 17th on the grid to finish sixth, demonstrating strong race management and consistent pace.
The race also featured several incidents, including a post-race penalty for Jesus Rios following a late move, as well as multiple retirements from riders pushing the limits in the tightly contested field.
With the full 25 points, Quiles now extends his championship lead to 90 points, creating a significant gap over his closest rivals. Carpe remains second overall, while Fernandez moves up to third in the standings.
In the rookie classification, Veda Pratama leads the standings after another strong performance, underlining his consistency and competitiveness in his debut Moto3 season.
The result at Jerez not only confirms Quiles’ dominance but also highlights the increasingly competitive nature of the Moto3 field as the championship heads into its next round.
