Lorenzo Baldassarri has officially confirmed his future in the production-based motorcycle racing worldchampionship by signing a contract extension with the GoEleven Ducati squad to compete in the WorldSBK 2027 season.
This decision comes following an impressive campaign by the Italian rider since returning to the championship in 2026. He immediately grabbed headlines by securing a podium finish in the opening race at Phillip Island, demonstrating a rapid adaptation and competitive pace aboard his Ducati machine.
Consistency has been the cornerstone of Baldassarri's success throughout the year, as he climbed up to sixth place in the riders' world championship standings. This performance turnaround has effectively silenced doubts following a difficult period he endured in previous years.

"I am really happy to renew with Team GoEleven," Baldassarri said in a press release. "We had to wait a little while to finalise the last details, but I’ve been looking forward to this day for a long time. We are keeping continuity with the project, and I’m pleased about that; this year has been a fantastic season, during which I’ve consistently been fast and steady."
Furthermore, the rider elaborated on how the team helped him bounce back from past struggles. The trust shown by the Ducati satellite structure proved fruitful and created a solid foundation for the future.
"I had come from a difficult period where I lacked both confidence and results, having changed teams, bikes, and categories, but GoEleven believed in me, and we achieved great things this year," he added. "Big challenges ahead; we now have a solid baseline for every track, so we’ll arrive ready at every weekend. I can’t wait to start another year together."
Meanwhile, GoEleven Team Manager Denis Sacchetti welcomed this crucial agreement. According to him, the chemistry built inside the garage was the main reason why keeping the rider was the most logical step for 2027.
"The feeling we’ve built with Balda this year is fantastic," Sacchetti expressed. "The harmony within the garage and our mutual trust in the work we do are the key ingredients that led us to firmly believe in continuing this partnership, anything else wouldn’t have made sense."
Sacchetti also believes that a full season of experience will be a valuable asset for the team to push even harder next year. Full support and high motivation now surround the GoEleven garage as the season nears its conclusion.
"Balda has impressed us right from the very first race this year and I think he’s impressed a lot of people with what he’s shown on track, and we believe that with a year of experience, we could have a really exciting 2027. We’re thrilled and motivated," he concluded. Read our in-depth analysis for more updates on the WorldSBK paddock.
