Lindblad: Racing Bulls Must Push On, Not Hang On, in Alpine Fight

Arvid Lindblad has urged Racing Bulls to keep their foot on the gas in their Formula 1 constructors' battle with Alpine, insisting the team must not simply hold on. With the summer shutdown looming, Racing Bulls have emerged as the midfield benchmark, moving up to fifth after a double-points finish in Hungary.

Consistency has been their hallmark—only one pointless weekend all season, while Alpine has missed out twice. Yet their form has swung in opposite directions: Alpine shone early, Racing Bulls have found their stride recently. Just five points separate them heading to Madrid at the end of the month.

“We’re fighting Alpine and we’re seven or eight tenths quicker in quali,” Lindblad said. “I don’t think it’s about hanging on. It’s about continuing to focus on ourselves and bring updates, which I know the team has good stuff coming.” The rookie has twice finished seventh and last failed to score when he couldn’t start in Canada.

Despite trailing teammate Liam Lawson by 20 points, Lindblad has impressed enough that speculation about Red Bull junior Nikola Tsolov being promoted for 2027 has centered on Lawson being replaced, not the Briton.

“Going into the summer break is a massive confidence booster for everyone,” Lindblad added. “Looking at our trajectory over the last six or seven races, it’s impressive. So it’s about more of the same—keep doing what we’re doing.” With momentum on their side, Racing Bulls head to Madrid ready to push, not defend.
