An unverified image purporting to be the latest layout for the inaugural MotoGP race in downtown Adelaide circulated widely on Monday, sparking intrigue and speculation among fans and industry insiders.

Local radio station FiveAA reported that the sensitive document may have been deliberately leaked by a disgruntled member of parliament over plans to fell around 50 trees. If true, it signals that political friction is adding a layer of drama to the historic event's preparations.

What stands out is that the new map shows significant revisions to nearly every corner compared to the initial layout released with the event's announcement in February. MotoGP organizers had previously indicated that the final layout would be made public soon, and this leak could be an unexpected teaser.

The section formerly known as the Senna Chicane, the first sequence of corners used by Supercars, has been transformed into esses with gravel traps on both sides. Meanwhile, the Wakefield Road section has been shortened, with a new straight cutting across East Terrace and esses at either end.

Rundle Road also takes on a new guise, with a tighter approach angle to the turn connecting with Dequetteville Terrace compared to the initial concept. The final sector remains relatively unchanged, but the leaked map reveals proposed placements for gravel traps, the pit complex, and grandstands.

These layout changes won't only affect MotoGP. The Supercars Grand Final, scheduled just weeks after the new event on essentially the same circuit, will also feel the impact. Adelaide officials have consulted with Supercars and its drivers and teams to explore minor adjustments between events to suit the V8 machines.

With this leaked map, anticipation grows over how the Adelaide street circuit will look when it hosts MotoGP for the first time. Will it deliver the challenging and spectacular layout promised? We await the official announcement from organizers.
