MotoGP, Sportrik Media - Reigning 2024 MotoGP champion Jorge Martin showcased a stunning return to form, finishing fourth at the Hungarian Grand Prix on August 24, 2025. Starting from 16th, he overtook 12 riders at Balaton Park. According to official MotoGP reports, this article explores Martin’s fightback, his adaptation to Aprilia, and his ambition to reclaim victories.

Stellar Comeback at Balaton Park

Martin returned to racing in July 2025 after a long-term injury. Hungary marked his third race back, and he delivered a remarkable performance. “Today, I feel I’m truly back,” Martin told the MotoGP website. He maintained a strong pace over 26 laps. Despite Balaton Park’s reputation as a tough track for overtaking, Martin proved otherwise. “People said overtaking was impossible, but I passed 12 riders!” he exclaimed. As a result, he finished just 3 seconds behind teammate Marco Bezzecchi, who took a podium. Thus, this result marked a significant step in his recovery.

Adapting to Aprilia

Martin is still adjusting to Aprilia’s RS-GP after switching from Ducati. “I need more time with the bike,” he admitted. Nevertheless, he remains confident. “I’m the same ‘Martinator’ as last year. The bike is better than before.” Moreover, he praised the efforts of Aprilia Racing. “The team is working incredibly. I’m impressed with Aprilia’s project,” he added. Consequently, Martin believes victories are imminent. His goal is to deliver Aprilia’s first MotoGP win, a challenge that fuels his motivation more than just winning races.

Strategic and Mental Growth

Martin displayed a mature approach in Hungary. “I could’ve pushed for the podium and crashed. I chose fourth to build a solid foundation,” he said. This contrasts with last season’s pressure-driven mindset. As a result, he now focuses on gradual progress. Furthermore, his injury experience strengthened his mentality. “This injury helped me grow,” he told Diario AS. Therefore, he’s more confident and ready for the next race in Barcelona.

With this performance, Martin aims for podiums or wins in the remaining 2025 races. “Maybe next race I’ll be on the podium or fighting for victory,” he said. Meanwhile, collaboration with Aprilia’s pit crew continues to improve. With a more competitive bike, Martin has a strong chance to return to the top.
