Jorge Martin Confident Ahead of 2026 MotoGP Title Run-In: Struggles Are Behind Me

Jorge Martin is heading into the final five rounds of the 2026 season with renewed confidence, insisting that his previous performance dips are firmly in the past. The Aprilia rider's form has fluctuated wildly throughout the year, featuring brilliant victories mixed with inexplicable off-pace weekends. After a strong return from the summer break, he stumbled in Aragon and struggled with arm pump in San Marino before turning things around with a consistent podium streak.

Claiming third place at the Mandalika Grand Prix allowed him to retake the championship lead over Ducati rival Marc Marquez. Although he could not match the blistering pace of his stablemates Marco Bezzecchi and Raul Fernandez in Indonesia, Martin drew immense encouragement from his final race result. The Spanish rider believes he is now ideally positioned for the intense title run-in as the championship enters its crucial final stretch.

Reflecting on his recent turnaround, the reigning world champion emphasized that his mental approach and machine setup have clicked into a much better place. Doubts about specific circuits that plagued him earlier in the year have completely vanished. With the championship battle tightening up, maintaining ultimate focus and extracting maximum performance from his machinery remain his top priorities for the upcoming Grands Prix.

"I'm happy to have my third podium in a row with Aprilia; this is super nice," Jorge Martin stated following the Indonesian round. "I feel I am confident that I will be fast in all the races that are remaining. For sure, there were races where I thought I was going to struggle and indeed, I was struggling. Now, I don't feel I will struggle anymore. I will be really competitive and I'm really focused on what's coming."

While a missed opportunity in the sprint race prevented him from extending a larger gap over his pursuers, Martin remains upbeat about his overall trajectory. He noted that every time he hits the track, his pace continues to sharpen for the ultimate fight. With five rounds remaining, the battle for the premier class crown promises to deliver high drama right down to the final checkered flag.
