Isack Hadjar insists that Red Bull's clutch system requires a complete redesign following a string of persistent technical issues that compromised his race at the United States Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas.
The French driver ultimately crossed the finish line in sixth position after starting from an impressive third on the grid, as the Milton Keynes-based squad's competitive pace faded away during the grueling Texas encounter.
Meanwhile, teammate Max Verstappen started from second and managed to salvage a third-place finish, though the Dutch star openly complained that the RB22's overall handling characteristics felt merely average throughout the weekend.

Subpar starts have proven to be a known and consistent anomaly for the car, a weakness that was painfully evident as the lights went out and Hadjar was immediately swamped by both Ferrari challengers off the line.
Speaking to Sky Sports in the media pen after the race, Hadjar explained that he executed his starting procedure flawlessly, only for the clutch to over-deliver unexpectedly, compounding a difficult afternoon at the office.
“I do everything perfectly in terms of procedure, and then I just have like clutch over-delivery. And these things are just out of my control,” the young charger stated regarding the chaotic opening moments of the grand prix.
“Then I have poor radio coverage; I can’t hear what’s happening in the pits. And I leave the pits with the wrong map, and then I’m losing a second a lap on the Hard tyre,” he added, detailing the communication breakdown.
Addressing the underlying mechanical gremlins, Hadjar emphasized that a quick patch simply will not suffice to cure the recurring ailments plaguing the team's weekend operations.
“It needs a redesign because at the moment it’s too fragile and it’s not coping well with temperatures. It’s a real struggle,” Hadjar concluded, highlighting the urgent need for technical upgrades.
