After being left out of a full-time seat at Brad Jones Racing when the team downsized from four cars to three, Bryce Fullwood has returned as a co-driver for Andre Heimgartner. While a full-time return remains his long-term goal, the 28-year-old says he has gained a fresh outlook on racing in his first co-driving role since 2019.
"My focus at the moment is enjoying going racing and doing the best job I can for the team and Andre," Fullwood told Speedcafe. "I didn't expect to find myself here, but they're a great bunch of guys and I know everyone extremely well, so I've slotted back in really well."
Fullwood also highlighted his close relationship with race engineer Phil Keed, saying, "I've done more racing with Phil than Andre has, so I know how they both work, and that makes the transition seamless."

Despite the different role, Fullwood has rediscovered the fun in racing. "It's a travelling circus, which is a lot of fun, but at the end of the day it's a stressful game. It's nice to sometimes do racing that takes the pressure off and reminds you that racing cars is really cool," he said.
At the pre-enduro test at Queensland Raceway, Fullwood got his first taste of the Toyota GR Supra. "First impressions are good. The build quality is high, and both Toyota teams have done a great job. The engine power delivery is very different from the Chevy I drove, so I'm getting used to that," he added.
Fullwood also revealed he had been in contact with Phil throughout the year to understand the car's development. "Fortunately, a lot of their goals align with where I've come from in the last few years, so it all makes sense," he said.
Earlier, Fullwood competed in the 24 Hours of Spa in June and made a cameo in the Motorcraft Mustang Cup Australia at Hidden Valley. However, he insists those events were more about enjoying racing than accumulating miles. "Honestly, I haven't been thinking about it as preparation for the enduros. I've just been having fun and saying yes to opportunities that come up," he concluded.
