A dominant display of rallying masterclass was delivered by Frank Tore Larsen during the domestic championship season. Piloting an MRF-shod Volkswagen Polo GTI R5, the Norwegian ace successfully swept all six events on the calendar, setting a benchmark that even eclipsed the legendary accomplishments of world champion Colin McRae.
Beyond just claiming overall event victories, Larsen established absolute authority by leading virtually every single competitive kilometer. Out of 51 total special stages held throughout the 2026 campaign, he triumphed in an astonishing 49 of them, securing a remarkable 96 percent stage win ratio.
“Yeah, I wasn’t aware of the fact and it’s quite impressive when you hear it for the first time,” Larsen told DirtFish.

“But then when you think about it a little bit, then you kind of think: ‘What could I have done differently on the two stages I didn’t win to get the 100% record?’ But I think mostly it says something about the level that we have kept,” he added.
In the mere two stages where victory slipped away, Larsen finished a mere 0.5 seconds and 0.3 seconds shy of the benchmark. This microscopic margin underscored the astonishing consistency and unmatched pace he maintained across mixed surfaces throughout the entire championship.
