Ducati Lenovo Team rider Marc Marquez has arrived at Mugello for the Brembo Grand Prix of Italy. The reigning World Champion has cleared the first critical hurdle of his return from injury, having received medical clearance to participate in the first free practice session (FP1) of the weekend.

The medical decision to allow Marquez to enter FP1 serves as a controlled test to evaluate his physical response to on-track demands. Following the conclusion of the first practice session, Marquez will undergo a secondary medical review. This final assessment will determine his fitness levels and dictate whether he is cleared to take part in the remaining sessions and the main race on Sunday.

The injury sequence began with a crash during the Tissot Sprint at Le Mans, which resulted in a small fracture in his foot, rendering him unfit for competition. During the recovery period for his foot, Marquez strategically decided to bring forward a previously scheduled surgery on his shoulder, an injury sustained during the previous year's event in Indonesia.

From a technical and physiological standpoint, the combination of recovering from a bone fracture and undergoing major shoulder surgery requires precise rehabilitation management. Following a successful procedure and a dedicated recovery period, the return to the track for FP1 is the final step in verifying his operational readiness. The session will test his ability to withstand high G-forces and extreme braking pressures characteristic of the Mugello circuit.

Marquez's return is pivotal for the Ducati factory's strategic objectives in the championship. With a mental focus on rebuilding his future in the sport, the seven-time champion aims to regain his competitive edge rapidly. The primary objective is to ensure a seamless transition from rehabilitation to full-scale competition without compromising his physical integrity.

For the technical crew, Marquez's participation in FP1 is essential for refining the bike's setup and gathering critical data. Given that Mugello is one of the most physically demanding tracks on the calendar, the post-FP1 medical evaluation will be the deciding factor in whether Ducati Lenovo Team can deploy their full roster for the duration of the Italian Grand Prix.
