Ferrari has released special race suits for Monza

Ferrari has revealed the special race suits that Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc will wear at the Italian Grand Prix in Monza next weekend (4-6 September). The one-off suits pay tribute to Michael Schumacher's legacy with the team.

Predominantly red, the suits feature the star pattern Schumacher used on his helmet designs. It's a fitting tribute as the Monza weekend marks the 30th anniversary of Schumacher's first win with Ferrari in 1996, and 20 years since his final F1 victory in 2006.

Ferrari is also expected to run a special livery on its SF-26 cars dedicated to the German, who won five consecutive world titles with the Scuderia between 2000 and 2004. Schumacher also won the Italian GP five times with Ferrari.

This isn't the first time Ferrari has opted for a special look at its home race. Last year, the team ran a Niki Lauda tribute livery with added white to the classic scarlet. Now, Schumacher gets the same honor.

Heading into the race, Ferrari sits second in the constructors' standings, 87 points behind Mercedes. Hamilton is third in the drivers' championship, tied on points with George Russell, both 59 points behind Andrea Kimi Antonelli. Leclerc is a further 28 points adrift in fifth.

With the tifosi's support and a rich history at Monza, Ferrari will be hoping this special tribute brings them luck. The stage is set for a memorable weekend.
