Alex Rins has revealed that Yamaha was still uncertain about its participation in the upcoming Qatar MotoGP round. This delicate situation arises amidst growing concerns from riders regarding flight safety guarantees and emergency evacuation protocols, following potential airspace closures due to renewed regional hostilities.
Although MotoGP organizers and local authorities insist the event is safe to proceed, the riders continue to demand comprehensive safety assurances. When asked about these specific demands at Sepang, the Spanish rider chose to keep details confidential to protect ongoing internal discussions.
"I'd like to talk about it, but I can't," Rins said. He emphasized that the riders are standing more united than ever to fight for their fundamental workplace safety rights within the paddock.

Furthermore, Rins disclosed that Yamaha was the only manufacturer that remained doubtful about traveling to Qatar as of Wednesday. The management of the Iwata-based factory was reportedly weighing up various logistical risks before confirming their trip to Doha.
The situation has been further complicated by the Japanese government's official travel advice urging citizens to refrain from non-essential travel to Qatar. Meanwhile, MotoGP Deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta traveled directly to Doha following the Australian Grand Prix to hold intensive meetings with local authorities.
