Factory rider Jorge Martin is bracing himself for a grueling and agonizing weekend at the Sepang International Circuit as he attempts to ride through the pain barrier with a fractured right arm. The Aprilia star suffered the radius fracture following a heavy crash during the previous round at the Australian Grand Prix.
After completing a rigorous recovery regime with his physiotherapist throughout the week, the Spaniard cleared his initial hurdle on Thursday. MotoGP medical director Dr. Angel Charte declared him fit to participate in the opening practice session, though he must still pass additional medical evaluations on Friday before securing the green light for the Grand Prix.
Arriving at the circuit wearing a brace on his right wrist, Martin openly admitted that his physical condition remains far from optimal. He revealed that the injury is severe enough that he cannot even brush his teeth with his right hand, relying entirely on his left. Tackling a circuit renowned for its right-handed corners with such a limitation on the throttle and brake hand presents a massive physical mountain to climb.

'The only thing I know is that my wrist is broken. I will try to ride with a broken wrist, so for sure it will be really difficult, it will be really painful,' Martin told media members on Thursday.
The decision to grit his teeth and ride stems entirely from his determination to keep his championship hopes alive. Following his costly crash in the Phillip Island sprint race, he currently trails his main title rival, Marc Marquez, by 10 points at the top of the standings.
'I will try for sure because I'm in the title fight. Otherwise I will be in my house with a cast for one month. Let's see how much a limitation it is for the riding style,' he explained regarding his calculated risk.
Despite the immense physical odds stacked against him and the high probability of losing further ground in the championship battle, Martin insists his current mindset is strictly focused on day-to-day survival on the bike rather than long-term title permutations.
