Japanese manufacturer Yamaha has officially announced it will not travel to Doha for the upcoming 20th round of the season at the Losail International Circuit. The decision comes directly as a result of the ongoing geopolitical situation and security concerns in the Middle East, meaning both the factory squad and satellite partner Pramac will sit out the event.
The strict travel ban is being enforced due to an internal corporate policy clause that prevents employees from traveling to conflict-affected regions. This announcement follows a final unsuccessful attempt by teams and riders earlier on Sunday afternoon to convince the championship organizers to call off the race weekend in Qatar altogether.

Despite safety assurances provided by local authorities following a visit to the country by deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta, Yamaha maintained that risks remain too high. Most global governments have continued issuing advisory warnings against non-essential travel to the region ahead of upcoming political milestones.
In an official statement, the manufacturer clarified its stance. "Following its latest assessment of the situation in the Middle East, Yamaha has not identified sufficient grounds to change its existing company-wide travel restrictions," the statement read. The company further emphasized that the choice was made independently from championship organizer measures.
The sudden withdrawal by Fabio Quartararo and his squad has sparked a severe standoff with championship promoters. While other grid teams confirmed their attendance, MotoGP expressed deep disappointment and warned of potential sporting penalties and fines to be determined by the FIM governing body.
