Formula 1, Sportrik Media - Williams F1 Team has announced a “landmark” collaboration with Marvel, bringing some of the franchise’s most iconic characters into a crossover project with Formula 1.

The initiative will feature characters such as Iron Man, Captain America, and Black Widow, who will join forces with drivers Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz, as well as team principal James Vowles, in a storyline centred on “saving the racing season.”

The collaboration will take the form of a special one-shot comic, set to be released at the Monaco Grand Prix in June. In addition, exclusive event-specific covers will be made available at selected races, including the British, Spanish (Madrid), Singapore, Austin, and Las Vegas Grands Prix, while pre-orders have already opened during the Miami Grand Prix weekend.

The story is set during the racing season and will include appearances from a wider roster of Marvel characters, all contributing to a narrative involving a battle against Doctor Doom. The concept aims to integrate motorsport storytelling with mainstream entertainment in a structured and engaging format.

Williams’ director of merchandise and licensing, Luke Timmins, outlined the strategic intent behind the collaboration, emphasising its role in expanding the team’s global appeal.

“Alex and Carlos are already heroes to our millions of fans, and now they get to prove it in print by uniting with Marvel Super Heroes to save racing from Doctor Doom,” Timmins explained.

He added that the partnership represents an opportunity to connect two global audiences while offering fans an alternative way to engage with the Williams brand beyond traditional racing activities.

The decision to launch the collaboration in Miami reflects the event’s global profile and strong commercial platform. The rollout of special editions across multiple Grands Prix also signals a sustained activation strategy throughout the season.

Through this initiative, Williams continues to expand its commercial and cultural footprint, leveraging cross-industry partnerships to strengthen fan engagement during the 2026 Formula 1 campaign.
