Van Gisbergen Spins in Iowa Slog, Finishes 30th, Slams Setup

Shane van Gisbergen endured a tough weekend at Iowa Speedway. The Trackhouse Racing driver had to settle for 30th place after a spin on Lap 91 of 350 in the NASCAR Cup Series race.

Van Gisbergen, usually competitive on ovals, struggled from the start. After the spin, he radioed his team: "I don't know what happened. It just felt like it had flats the whole time."

Throughout the long, grueling Iowa race, van Gisbergen continued to complain about poor handling. He never managed to challenge at the front, and the 30th-place finish was a major disappointment for the #97 crew.

Meanwhile, the race was won by Ty Gibbs of Joe Gibbs Racing. Gibbs beat his teammate Christopher Bell by just a few car lengths. The decisive moment came during the final round of green flag pit stops when Gibbs passed Bell in the pit lane, a move that proved to be the race-winner.

This result is a bitter pill for van Gisbergen, who is fighting for consistency in his first full NASCAR Cup Series season. His criticism of the setup highlights internal issues that need immediate evaluation.
