In a race heavily dictated by tactical masterclasses and tyre management, Kimi Antonelli delivered a commanding performance to conquer the United States Grand Prix. The Italian prodigy led from the very start, briefly surrendering the lead during the pit stop cycle before reclaiming the top spot with 24 laps remaining in a tense tactical battle at the front.

From that decisive moment onward, the Mercedes charger controlled proceedings with absolute authority to secure his ninth victory of the season. This crucial win extends his championship lead to a commanding 123 points with just five rounds remaining, leaving him needing a mere two points in Mexico next weekend to seal his maiden world championship crown.

Behind the dominant leader, Charles Leclerc charged through the field in the closing stages, crossing the finish line 13 seconds adrift in second place. Max Verstappen rounded out the podium positions in third, having led during the middle phase of the grand prix before his two-stop strategy ultimately fell short against the winner's one-stop approach.

Verstappen initially looked like the most potent threat to Antonelli's supremacy, but Leclerc's late-race surge on a similar two-stop strategy denied the Dutchman the runner-up spot. Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton brought his car home in fourth position, keeping his remarkably slim mathematical title hopes alive for at least another race weekend.

Drama also unfolded for Lando Norris, who had to settle for fifth despite running as high as second late in the race. McLaren's gamble on a one-stop strategy initially paid dividends, but Norris proved powerless to fend off the charging Verstappen and the Ferrari duo in the dying laps, slipping three positions before the checkered flag.
