Tension reached its peak in the Mount Panorama pit lane as Triple Eight successfully dashed Brad Jones Racing’s ambitions of securing their seventh title in the fiercely contested Pit Stop Challenge at the Bathurst 1000. This high-speed mechanic showdown put precision, calmness, and physical endurance under immense pressure ahead of the main race weekend.
The competition kicked off with a semi-final clash between Matt Stone Racing and Brad Jones Racing, featuring Jack Le Brocq's Camaro against the Supra driven by Andre Heimgartner. Right from the start line, Andre Heimgartner gained the early jump over Le Brocq and maintained that decisive advantage all the way to the finish line without giving his opponent any room to recover.
Meanwhile, the second semi-final pitted Aaron Cameron’s Blanchard Racing Team Mustang against the Triple Eight Mustang spearheaded by Broc Feeney. Both cars were evenly matched leaving the start line. Although Broc Feeney overshot his box slightly, Cameron suffered a sluggish pit stop followed by an engine stall just as his car was dropped from the jacks.

In the grand finale, Andre Heimgartner and Broc Feeney were virtually inseparable as they left the start line. However, Heimgartner ran long in his pit bay, which ultimately proved to be the decisive factor that allowed Triple Eight to seize the victory.
Following the triumph, Broc Feeney humbly deflected the spotlight straight onto his hard-working crew members. "Don’t interview me, these are the superstars," said Broc Feeney, pointing directly at his pit crew. "I’ve never been so excited to win. I’m so nervous. I was shaking, I was sweating. These are the boys, don’t worry about me. They’ve done a great job." He added that missing out last year hurt because of how fast their guys are, noting that they practice four-tire stops almost every single day with immense pride.
Triple Eight team manager Mark Dutton also hailed the relentless efforts put in by the pit stop crew behind closed doors. "You would not believe how hard they work," stated Mark Dutton. "我们We get to work early and you’ll often hear rattle guns going before six in the morning. The work starts the second they’re there, cracking out pit stop practice. They’re so devoted, so proud."
