Trackhouse Posts MotoGP Rider Job on LinkedIn, Ogura Replacement Hunt

Trackhouse Racing, the American-owned MotoGP team, has posted a tongue-in-cheek job listing on LinkedIn. They are looking for a rider who can "operate a motorcycle at speeds north of 220 mp/h, ideally while facing forwards" and "translate 45 minutes of controlled chaos into calm, technical feedback for your engineers."

The listing comes after it was confirmed that Raul Fernandez will stay with the team on a two-year deal. Now, the second seat is open, and speculation is already pointing to several big names.

The ideal candidate must also "handle press conferences and sponsor commitments with visible composure" and "maintain a respectful, occasionally combative relationship with gravel traps." This is clearly a wink at riders who often crash.

Trackhouse said they are looking for "proven form in Moto2, Moto3, or a suspiciously competitive local karting scene" and "reflexes that outrun conscious thought." Other prerequisites include "being out-briefed in the data room and out-quipped in the press room" and "a resting heart rate your GP will want to discuss."

The rider must be fluent in English and "conversational in apologising," with Italian as a plus. The compensation section lists a competitive salary, inversely proportional to gravel-trap frequency.

Though the listing was posted only days ago, Trackhouse may have already found Ai Ogura's replacement alongside Fernandez. KTM satellite rider Enea Bastianini from Tech3 is expected to join the US-owned, Italy-based team.

A few seats remain unaccounted for, though heavily speculated. Gresini's Fermin Aldeguer and WorldSBK championship leader Nico Bulega are expected to land at Valentino Rossi's VR46 team. David Alonso has been signed by Honda, though it is unclear if he will be a factory rider or at satellite squad LCR.

With Bastianini tipped for Trackhouse and Maverick Vinales set to be dropped, Tech3 is set to have an all-new rider line-up in 2027. Luca Marini and Senna Agius have been linked to the KTM satellite squad. Meanwhile, Jack Miller looks set to be replaced by Izan Guevara at Pramac Yamaha, alongside Toprak Razgatlioglu.
