Toprak Razgatlioglu’s Riding Style Scares Pramac Crew

Toprak Razgatlioglu can produce “pure magic” in certain sections of a MotoGP circuit, despite the Pramac Yamaha rider continuing to face a difficult adaptation during the 2026 season.

Razgatlioglu’s crew chief, Alberto Giribuola, believes his braking style shares similarities with Andrea Dovizioso. Both riders belong to the group capable of braking extremely late on corner entry.

However, Giribuola sees an additional quality in Razgatlioglu through high-speed corners. The Turkish rider’s aggressive approach into certain fast sections is so extreme that members of the team become concerned while watching from the garage.

“Toprak, even on fast sections, sometimes works pure magic. He enters certain corners so aggressively that even we get scared,” Giribuola said.

Another standout strength is Razgatlioglu’s ability to learn rapidly from other riders. When following a rival on track, he can immediately reproduce lines, braking points, and techniques he has not previously attempted.

“He has this ability to adapt and observe. Simply by having a reference point, he can make a huge difference, whereas other riders often cannot keep up with someone faster than themselves,” Giribuola said.

Razgatlioglu’s current adaptation remains influenced by the transition from Pirelli tyres in WorldSBK to Michelin machinery in MotoGP. He has yet to finish inside the top 10 in a race during 2026, although 11th place in Hungary provided one indication of improving pace.

Razgatlioglu will remain with Pramac Yamaha in 2027, when MotoGP switches to Pirelli tyres. That change is expected to represent the next important phase of his adaptation after years of experience with the same tyre manufacturer in WorldSBK.
