Toprak Razgatlioglu began his first official public activities ahead of the 2026 MotoGP season with a high-profile visit to Jakarta, forming part of Yamaha Indonesia’s early-year programme prior to the launch of Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP.

Yamaha brought three MotoGP riders to Indonesia to open the 2026 campaign: Fabio Quartararo, Alex Rins, and Razgatlioglu. Quartararo and Rins are scheduled to headline the official Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team launch in Jakarta on January 21, while Razgatlioglu drew early attention through a more grassroots engagement with local fans.

The Turkish rider is set to make his MotoGP debut in 2026 with Prima Pramac Yamaha MotoGP, marking a major career transition following his success in the World Superbike Championship. His presence in Indonesia underlined Yamaha’s intent to introduce its newest MotoGP figure to one of the championship’s most important markets.

On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, Razgatlioglu opened his Jakarta schedule with a visit to SMKN 39 Jakarta. Riding a standard-production Yamaha R25, he immediately electrified the school grounds with a series of wheelies and burnouts that sent students into raptures.

The impromptu stunt display transformed the school visit into a memorable spectacle, offering students a rare opportunity to witness the skills of a future MotoGP rider at close range.

“I am very happy to be able to do an activity like this,” Razgatlioglu said.
“They were very enthusiastic to welcome me.”

Beyond the on-bike demonstrations, Razgatlioglu also took part in a direct question-and-answer session with students, sharing insights into his racing journey, training discipline, and the challenges awaiting him as he steps up from World Superbikes to MotoGP.

The visit highlighted a deliberate shift in Yamaha’s engagement strategy. Rather than focusing exclusively on formal launches and paddock-facing events, the brand has leveraged Razgatlioglu’s popularity to connect directly with younger audiences and grassroots motorcycle communities.

From a broader perspective, the timing is significant. The 2026 season represents a pivotal year for Yamaha, not only due to its technical direction but also because of Razgatlioglu’s arrival as one of the most anticipated MotoGP rookies in recent years.

For Razgatlioglu himself, the Jakarta activities offered an early taste of the global spotlight that accompanies MotoGP, far exceeding the exposure he experienced during his World Superbike career.

Following the Jakarta programme, Yamaha’s focus will shift to the official Monster Energy Yamaha MotoGP team launch, before attention turns fully to pre-season testing and preparations for the opening round of the 2026 MotoGP season.

Razgatlioglu’s appearance in Jakarta was more than a promotional stop. It served as an early statement of intent, signalling both the rider’s readiness for the next step and Yamaha’s ambition as it enters a season defined by transition and expectation.
