Queensland Raceway owner Tony Quinn has broken his silence over the circuit's future on the Supercars calendar, with speculation mounting that Phillip Island could take over its slot next season.
The rumor gained traction after MotoGP's departure from Phillip Island, leaving the Victorian venue open for Supercars. Adding to the uncertainty, the number of rounds for next year remains fluid—anywhere from 12 to 15—depending on ongoing Teams Racing Charter negotiations.
Speaking to Speedcafe, Quinn admitted frustration over the lack of official communication. "I've had 100 people tell me it's going to Phillip Island, but nobody from Supercars has said anything," he said. "If that's true, it's a reflection of a poor relationship. We don't have a poor relationship. That would bother and disappoint me."

Despite the rumors, Quinn remains optimistic. "I fully expect them to come back. I don't know why they wouldn't," he added.
One of the key issues is the lack of support from the Queensland government. However, Quinn insists that shouldn't be a reason to drop Ipswich. "The Queensland government is busy with the 2032 Olympics and already funds Townsville and the Gold Coast. But Ipswich is the heartland of Supercars. In business, you look after your heartland," he said.
Since purchasing the circuit in 2021, Quinn has invested heavily in upgrades. "It's not government money that built this place. It's my personal, tax-paid money," he said. "Nobody can argue we haven't improved it tenfold."
He also dismissed critics who call the track boring. "For all the people calling it 'the paperclip' and everything else, we're done listening. The racing speaks for itself," he concluded.
The big question now is whether Supercars will risk losing one of its most iconic venues, or opt for Phillip Island in a bid for long-term growth. Only time will tell.
