The prestigious Supercars touring car championship has implemented a decisive technical adjustment for the Super2 feeder series. Holden Commodore ZB runners have been officially granted a 15mm increase to their boot lid extension gurney, a modification specifically engineered to enhance rear downforce on the tarmac.
This regulatory update follows a comprehensive evaluation and data analysis conducted by series management. The thorough investigation included physical track testing held at Sandown this week to address competitive parity concerns that arose during recent rounds of the championship.
Supercars motorsport boss Tim Edwards formally informed all Super2 teams regarding the upcoming technical modification via an official note. He noted that officials had been closely investigating the parity of the Holden Commodore after it repeatedly triggered monitoring thresholds.

As outlined in the communication, the evaluation utilized the legacy parity formula applicable to this particular generation of machinery. Following data analysis, runway test results, and physical testing this week, it was determined that the Commodore requires an increased boot lid gurney measuring approximately 5mm taller than the current configuration.
The updated aerodynamic setup will officially debut for round five at Sandown. Furthermore, Supercars confirmed that CAD drawings will be distributed shortly to allow competing outfits to 3D print the new gurney components ahead of the race weekend.
