Sergio Perez has officially committed his immediate racing future to the Cadillac F1 project after the team confirmed a multi-year contract extension for the Mexican driver.
The announcement arrives on the eve of a landmark weekend for the veteran driver, who is preparing to make his milestone 300th race start on home soil at the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in front of passionate local fans.
Since stepping into the sport's newest American outfit, Perez has partnered alongside Valtteri Bottas to anchor an exceptionally experienced driver lineup. While the team is still hunting for their breakthrough maiden points finish of the campaign—with a 14th-place result standing as their season high so far—management has doubled down on stability.

"Joining Cadillac from day one was a project I truly believed in, and extending my commitment feels like a natural continuation of this chapter," Perez expressed following the confirmation of his renewed deal.
He emphasized that constructing a competitive Formula 1 operation from the ground up demands immense patience, relentless dedication, and collaborative hard work. Perez confirmed his total dedication to the squad's multi-year trajectory moving forward.
Team CEO Dan Towriss echoed this sentiment, highlighting that securing Checo's expertise provides crucial continuity as the organization seeks to climb further up the competitive grid order.
"Building a competitive team in F1 is a long-term journey, and securing Checo’s talent and leadership gives us the continuity and commitment we need," Towriss stated regarding the ongoing development phase.
