Pedro Acosta faced a harsh reality check during the Japanese Grand Prix at Motegi after struggling to extract competitive pace from his RC16 machine. Starting from a strong grid position, the rookie slipped backward early on and had to fight tooth and nail just to salvage a decent points finish.

The race quickly turned into a difficult defensive exercise as grip issues hampered his braking performance and corner exits. Despite brief moments of recovery, he ultimately crossed the finish line in a lonely seventh place after fading late in the race.

Reflecting on the tough Sunday afternoon, the youngster admitted it was his first genuinely difficult Grand Prix in quite a while. The sudden shift in behavior compared to his strong Saturday form left both the rider and his crew searching for answers.
