Formula 1, Sportrik Media - Mercedes has been forced into a complete power unit change on Day 2 of the 2026 Formula 1 Bahrain pre-season test at the Bahrain International Circuit, impacting the running of Kimi Antonelli.

The Silver Arrows identified an issue with the power unit being used during the morning session. Following an internal investigation, the team opted to carry out a full replacement as a precautionary measure.

As a result of the extensive work required, Mercedes confirmed that Antonelli will not return to the track before the lunch break.
