McLaren and Red Bull have brought major upgrade packages to the 2026 Azerbaijan Grand Prix at the Baku City Circuit. Both teams have introduced multiple changes to their cars, while Mercedes and Ferrari have opted against bringing new components for the weekend.
McLaren has introduced the larger of the two leading packages, with eight updates listed for the Baku event. The changes cover the sidepod inlet, engine cover, floor, diffuser, rear suspension fairings and rear wing, with several developments designed specifically around the demands of the Baku City Circuit.
The revised sidepod inlet and engine cover have been developed to improve airflow management towards the rear of the car. McLaren has also introduced an alternative sidepod shape, alongside a revised floor edge and diffuser intended to work with the updated flow conditions.
The rear suspension fairings have also been modified to maximise the aerodynamic benefits of the new package. Meanwhile, the rear wing features a circuit-specific configuration with an alternative flap position designed to deliver a greater reduction in drag when the car is running in a straight-line configuration.
Red Bull has brought five updates, with its package centred on revised floor and diffuser geometries. The changes target additional local aerodynamic load while maintaining stable airflow across the car. The sidepod has also been revised at its junction with the floor to complement the new package.
Red Bull has also revised its cooling louvres to accommodate the updated bodywork, while changes to the mirror assembly and halo fairing are intended to improve downstream airflow management. The developments are aimed at supporting the additional load generated by the revised floor package.
Elsewhere, Audi has brought the largest development package among the midfield teams, with changes covering the front wing, nose, floor, engine cover bodywork, suspension, brake ducts and rear wing. Williams has introduced five updates, while Racing Bulls has three. Cadillac has also revised its front brake cooling, front suspension fairings and diffuser winglet. Mercedes, Ferrari, Aston Martin, Haas and Alpine have submitted no new developments for the Baku weekend.
