When the race finally got underway following a near two-hour delay caused by torrential rain, Max Verstappen faced treacherous track conditions and software issues that plagued the grid. The reigning ace mastered the chaos, survived two Safety Car periods, and secured his first grand prix victory since Abu Dhabi last year, delivering RBPT Ford its maiden win as a power unit supplier.

The early laps brought massive drama as drivers gambled on dry tyres over a damp circuit. Kimi Antonelli capitalized early to lead before losing the top spot to Verstappen following the first Safety Car intervention.
