Verstappen Rules Out F1 Future for His Team

Max Verstappen has made it clear that his racing team, Verstappen Racing, will never step into Formula 1. Despite his big ambitions for the squad, he prefers to focus on endurance racing.

Since founding Verstappen Racing in 2022, Max Verstappen has been developing the team across various GT3 categories. He even took on driving duties himself, most notably at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring earlier this year.

In an interview with Formule 1 Magazine, Verstappen shared his long-term vision for the team. "In the next 10 to 20 years, there should be a professional racing team competing for victories in the various racing classes. We're not going to compete just because it's fun to race. We want to be at the front, win races, and, at the very least, consistently compete at the front," he said.

However, when asked if his team would move up to F1, his answer was firm: "No! Because that's way too demanding. I don't want to be on the road for 24 races a year or very busy with my own racing team."

Verstappen emphasized that he is not the type of person who can lie on a beach for five races without knowing what's going on with his team. "That would cause me too much stress, and I don't want that," he added.

With a focus on endurance racing, Verstappen seems to be building a legacy beyond F1 glory. This decision also aligns with his long-standing interest in GT and endurance racing, which he might pursue more seriously after retiring from F1.
