Navigating intense triple headers in Formula 1 places immense physical strain on drivers, especially when sudden illnesses sweep through the paddock ahead of the Mexico City Grand Prix. With several team members and competitors forced to sit out media duties to recover, maintaining peak physical condition has become the ultimate priority.
Max Verstappen and Lando Norris opened up about the grueling nature of constant travel and relentless racing schedules that leave minimal room for proper rest and recovery between rounds.
"It is of course always quite tough on your body, like three weeks in a row. And yeah, sometimes you can get a little bit unlucky with whatever, a stomach bug," Verstappen explained, pointing out that mechanics and team personnel are equally vulnerable to exhaustion as the season reaches its demanding final stretch.

Rather than relying on fitness trackers, Verstappen prefers tuning into his body's natural signals, emphasizing that quality sleep and absolute downtime are far more valuable than hitting the gym between race weekends. He chooses to spend days off quietly to recharge mentally and physically away from the spotlight.
Echoing similar sentiments, Norris stressed the vital role of strict dietary discipline to prevent falling ill, recalling past health struggles during previous trips to Mexico and emphasizing that simple lifestyle choices keep him race-ready.
