Marc Marquez has dismissed the tag of title favourite, insisting the standings tell a different story. After a tough Silverstone weekend, the Ducati rider reminded everyone that he is still behind three rivals in the championship fight.
“You can keep saying I’m the favourite, but there is no favourite in this championship. In the standings, there are three riders ahead of me,” said Marquez, who now trails the leader by 40 points.
According to AS, Marquez pointed to Jorge Martin’s consistency as the key factor. “Every Sunday a different winner can emerge, but the most consistent so far is Martin. He’s managing the situation best,” he added.

Despite the pressure, Marquez refuses to let it affect him. “I’ll give my best and make things difficult for everyone, but we’re still behind,” he said.
The eight-time world champion also stressed that the title chase is not a matter of life or death. “I do my best and see how far I can go, without stress,” he concluded.
With many races still to go, the 2025 MotoGP title race is set to intensify. Marquez, who once dominated the premier class, now faces an uphill battle to close the gap.
