Marc Marquez described the closing stages of the Czech Grand Prix as the most demanding laps of his 2026 campaign after securing a crucial victory at Brno.

The reigning world champion fought his way past Francesco Bagnaia on Lap 16 and gradually built an advantage at the front. While the final margin suggested a controlled finish, Marquez revealed he was physically struggling during the closing laps of the race.

The victory carried particular significance for the Ducati Lenovo Team rider, who has continued his comeback from injury setbacks earlier in the season. Winning at Brno also strengthened his position in the championship battle following the absence of championship leader Marco Bezzecchi.

"Victory in the right corner, in the right circuit corners is something special I was looking for. You know that I never give up."

"In the last laps I was suffering a lot. The bike was there, but I was empty. I just tried to keep the pace and I saw that Bagnaia was pushing, but not enough to catch me."

Although Marquez maintained control of the race, the Spaniard admitted the pressure remained intense as Bagnaia continued to chase from behind. Any mistake in the final stages could have placed the victory at risk.

"They were the longest six laps of the year. I won't say of my career, but definitely of the year."

"Crossing the finish line in first position made me super happy."

The result marked one of Marquez's most important victories of the season. Combined with Bezzecchi's absence, the win significantly reduced his championship deficit and injected new momentum into his title challenge as the MotoGP paddock prepares for the next round of the 2026 campaign.
