Luke Browning is set to take the wheel of the Williams FW48 once again in Formula 1 free practice, taking over both race drivers' cars across consecutive Grand Prix weekends in Mexico and Brazil. The Grove-based squad's reserve driver has already completed two outings earlier this season and will now finish the mandatory allocation of four rookie FP1 sessions during these upcoming rounds.
The young Brit, who shares reserve duties alongside Victor Martins, has also been actively competing in the Japanese Super Formula championship following his transition from Formula 2. This busy schedule highlights the team's commitment to accelerating his development in top-tier single-seater racing machinery under competitive Grand Prix conditions.
During this weekend's Mexico City Grand Prix, the young charger will step into Alex Albon's car during the opening practice session. Following that assignment, he will jump into Carlos Sainz's machine next weekend at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace in Sao Paulo.

Significantly, this upcoming running marks the first time Browning will sample the upgraded specification of the FW48 chassis, which now features a lighter weight construction. This technical update is expected to yield vital telemetry and driver feedback for the engineering department back at the factory in Grove.
"I'm happy to be back in the FW48 and grateful to be trusted by Atlassian Williams F1 Team with all four of the team's rookie FP1 sessions this year," Browning stated. He emphasized that the mileage is crucial for understanding the new technical package. "It's a great opportunity to get more laps in the car, while building my understanding of the new package and bringing useful data and feedback back to Grove. Each session teaches you something new, and I will take every bit of learning I can from this to help keep pushing my development and the team forward," he concluded.
