Ongoing military conflicts in the Middle East previously sparked intense speculation regarding the potential cancellation of the MotoGP Qatar round. Originally slated for late March, the event was subsequently rescheduled to early November. Although the geopolitical landscape in the region remains unpredictable, championship organizers have officially resolved the uncertainty surrounding the upcoming flyaway fixture.
On October 28, the IRTA team association formally notified all competing outfits that the race weekend at the Losail International Circuit will proceed as planned from November 6 to 8, 2026. Liberty Media alongside the MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group decided to push forward with the event, acknowledging the massive stakes involved in the 2026 world championship calendar. Earlier during the Indonesian GP, deputy CEO Carlos Ezpeleta emphasized that safety remains the absolute priority.
'We are currently working, as planned, on the implementation of the Qatar GP, where the safety of all active personnel, our crew, and the fans remains priority number one. But should there be a change in the situation at short notice, we will react and create a safe plan with the teams and organizers, just as we did with the cancellation of the 2024 Valencia GP,' Carlos Ezpeleta stated.

Despite the official confirmation, reactions within the paddock have been measured and cautious. Ducati superstar Marc Marquez notably declined to comment on the matter during the Australian GP weekend at Phillip Island. Meanwhile, KTM charger Pedro Acosta adopted a pragmatic view regarding his contractual and professional racing obligations.
'I honestly don't know what will happen, but ultimately I ride for a brand, I ride for a championship, and if they make the decision to go, we should go,' Pedro Acosta remarked. As teams prepare for the flight to Doha, riders will look to block out global concerns and center their entire focus on the on-track battle in the desert.
