Liam Lawson says he is in a "good place" after a stunning first half of the 2026 F1 season. The New Zealander sits ninth in the drivers' standings, a stark contrast to his struggles 12 months ago.

With Racing Bulls, Lawson has been a consistent points scorer, finishing in the top ten in eight of the eleven races so far. The team has thrived under the new regulations, regularly challenging for points.

"When you're in a good rhythm and you find things that are working for you, it's obviously a good feeling," Lawson told F1. "Getting into a routine, especially during the European leg with less travel, has been great. It's a good opportunity to focus more on myself as a driver and athlete."

Lawson's F1 journey has been far from smooth. He debuted in 2023 as a stand-in for Daniel Ricciardo, and last year he was demoted from Red Bull to Racing Bulls. Now, with a stable full-time seat, he feels he is performing at his peak.

"Yeah, naturally the more experience you have, it's going to be like that," he added. "But also the results have been better this year, and that makes you feel in a good place." His focus on self-improvement and effective team meetings has been key to his resurgence.

With the second half of the season ahead, Lawson has a chance to solidify his standing. His consistency and newfound confidence are valuable assets for the challenges to come.
